Every year, more families sit with empty chairs. Young people who should be celebrating milestones and stepping into the next chapter of their lives, who are not there because gun violence took them too soon.
We have been working on Ripple Effect for the last few months because we wanted to sit with that reality in a way that statistics alone cannot capture. The film follows the imagined life of Malik and everything he should have become, before revealing that none of it ever happened. He was killed in a school shooting.
We hope this stays with you. And we hope it moves you to think about what we lose every time a child’s life is cut short.
